about
PSYCHIC ARMAGEDDON is the first tune from my PRIMITIVE IGNORANT record. The story of me. Raised a turban-wearing Sikh in West London. Hard years spent coping with racism, bullying and rejection. I tried to bleach my skin. I wanted to die, to escape; until, at fifteen, I found bands, drugs and gangs. And saved my life.
I'm proud of my Sikh heritage now. The record looks at how the effects of British colonialism persist. How people of colour are still viewed. The hate that dare not speak its name had begun to slip below the waves but Brexit dragged it back to the surface, gasping for air. The hierarchy. The arrogance. Marginalisation of Black and Asian youth feeds the gang culture that I grew up with. But now it's become darker. This is no glamorisation. It's a narrative to inspire hope, victory and renaissance. To deliver the human spirit to the upper reaches of reality. I wrote the music and lyrics. My friend LE JUNK sings this one. I am no singer. I don't consider myself a musician. But I am a work of art - as every human is.

I can safely say I've never been this excited over a piece of plastic in my entire life! This is awesome! It's impossible to pick a favourite when every track is a banger. The lyrics are on point and delivered with an acerbic wit and passion that leaves me in no doubt that they're spoken from the heart. I need more of this in my life! Dylan Barry

Amazing. Music full of energy and soul. And lyrics not scared of having an opinion. Plus on one of my favourite labels Invada. Finding this music this morning made my day. phil stairmand-jackson
